The Living Megillah: A Purim Miracle for Our Time
As Israel and the United States dismantle the IRGC during the season of Purim, the parallels to the Book of Esther are astounding. A regime that vowed to destroy Israel has been undone. And this story may have deeper connections to the wicked Haman.
By now, most of you are aware of the military campaign against the IRGC, carried out by Israel and the United States. The developments are significant on many levels, but there is a dimension to this that many are unable to see.
Before we explain why, note that these strikes occurred as the Jewish world prepared to celebrate Purim.
The Timing of Purim
Purim¹ commemorates the events recorded in the Book of Esther, set in ancient Persia. This is modern-day Iran.
In summary, the story tells of a plot of genocide against the Jewish people and how the architect of that plan, Haman, rose to power. In a Divine reversal, his plan ultimately backfired on him. In the end, the Jewish people survived and enjoyed many centuries living alongside the Persian people.
For a long time, many Jews recognized the spiritual similarities between Haman and Ayatollah Khamenei. They share the same goal and even geography, but is there more to this?
This connection became more compelling as the military operation, "Epic Fury²," brought about the death of the Ayatollah at the time of Purim.
Khamenei and Haman
The names Khamenei and Haman are phonetically similar. But Rabbi Shalom Arush points out that Khamenei may actually be a descendant of Haman!

The Jewish Calendar
This historical component is truly astounding. However, the timing only becomes apparent when you follow the Jewish calendar. Sadly, this connection is lost on the secular or Christian calendars.
For those observing the Jewish liturgical calendar, this event reads like a late chapter in the Book of Esther. The Megillah is playing out in real time.
Continue to pray for those in Iran and Israel, as this war is far from over. Nevertheless, it appears Hashem is signaling that victory is ahead.
Chag Purim Sameach.
"For the Jews there was light and gladness, happiness and honor." - Esther 8:16
