In a recent article¹, I posed the idea that the story of the Samaritan Woman at the Well is written as a Midrash. This hit me after reading through the Rabbinic literature and noticing similar patterns of storytelling.

It seems the Gospel of John is full of these, some of which I have covered previously, and will continue to explore.

In this teaching hour, we walk through this in more detail, laying the foundation and sharing the tools to spot these in other parables.

When we read this work in this light, it takes on a new dimension and reveals the New Testament might be the most misunderstood early Jewish work.
